Thetheme is the part of your blog which will reflect who you are, and what you think of, so it’s very important to have a suitable yet highly attractive theme that will match the purpose of your blog. When it comes to selecting good quality themes, however, most bloggers are not ready to pay big bucks for premium themes.

Freelancers: 3 Ways To Motivate Yourself When You’re Running Low

As freelance designers, self-discipline is one essential characteristic to cultivate. Granted that you have the benefits of a flexible timetable, it is highly critical for you to be firm in your daily dealings to keep your business going well. Maintaining high motivation for your work is hence a topmost priority.

But hey, who doesn’t have the downtime? Sometimes it’s easy to lose heart when you’re not getting by with freelancing, or when it didn’t meet your expectation of flexibility. That is why it is crucial for you to know what serves as motivation for freelancers like yourself.
As a part-time freelance blogger myself, I could relate to a few common issues regarding the lack of motivation. Fortunately, I have found for myself a few solutions that I could apply when I feel I’m running low on battery, and I’m willing to share to you my remedies in this post, full sharing after jump!

1. Remember Why You Took Up Freelancing

When you remind yourself what was it that drew you into the circle of freelancers, you would be grateful that you got into where you are now even if things are going really tight. Typically, freelancers got here because they want more control over their schedule and more freedom over their choice of projects or tasks.

That said, it’s easy to fall into the trap of not following up with the client on time. It could be something to do with time management or simply just a lack of motivation. If it is the latter, then you have to acknowledge the fact that how much you earn is entirely determined by the amount of time and hard work you’re willing to put in. High productivity is what makes a freelancer success.
Not only does that affect your income, it also affects your reputation among the other freelancers. A good reputation of completing projects promptly with quality will translate into more offers from clients. What this means is that you’ll have more leeway in choosing those who you’d really like to work on!
As a freelancer, you will definitely have to start off from the bottom, which means that you may not get many project offers and thus unable to make a decent living at the initial stage. Well, one way to keep yourself motivated is to remind yourself that eventually, your hard work will pay off in terms of getting more and better offers. As the saying goes, "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going."

2. Fanning The Flame

It’s easy to lose your creative sense when you’re kept busy by deadlines. When you place your emphasis on completing the project within a short timeframe, you become more concerned about getting the job done rather than doing it creatively or aesthetically. This leaves little room for indulging in your passion for freelancing.
feed your passion Freelancers: 3 Ways to Motivate Yourself When Youre Running Low
You need to feed your passion or it will die off gradually! Losing your motivation? This could be the reason. Spend some time looking up for designs pertaining to your area of interest. Visit art museums or galleries. Draw something for fun. As long as you’re doing your art not for work’s sake, but for fun’s sake, you will keep the fire in you burning. It’s easy to extinguish it when you work day-in and day-out on your projects because you’ll associate the stresses with it.
As you can see, work can create a love-hate relationship between you and your passion. You are passionate about your work, but at the same time, you loath how your livelihood is now dependent on your passion. It’s no longer fun when there’s a huge responsibility laid on what had always been your hobby or favorite pastime.
The bottom line is, don’t turn your passion into work alone. You will still need to allocate some time to feed your interest outside of work. Some people can enjoy their work no matter how taxing it may be, but for most, they still have to make some time outside work to be inspired. Work is work; the demands are there to take the fun out of the equation.

3. Using Flexibility To Your Advantage

The wonderful thing about being a freelancer is that it allows you to make your own call. You can go for meals, take breaks or even leave your workstation anytime you want. Not many other jobs offer that kind of freedom. On the down side, you might be tempted to procrastinate when no one but you yourself is monitoring your work.
break Freelancers: 3 Ways to Motivate Yourself When Youre Running Low

To curb those temptations and stay motivated, what you can do is you can give yourself appropriate time to rest. Just as dieticians would advise people to take many small, light meals rather than the standard three full meals to curb their cravings for unhealthy snacks, you shouldgive yourself many small breaks while you’re working on the project. That way, you won’t get too overwhelmed with handling all the work in one long stretch and end up taking the rest of the day off from your work.
Besides the advantage of keeping you motivated this way, taking frequent breaks would also start you off refreshed each time you return to your work. In fact, psychologists have found that you can absorb and remember the things you were working on the most when you just begun to work on it. They call it the primacy effect.
So, if you are taking several breaks, you will perform better each time you get back to work after your breaks. This translates to better work performance and mood for the entire project you are handling, which then serves as good motivation to keep up your good work.

Samsung Galaxy S III Launched; Features, Specifications and Review

Samsung has just officially launched the new Galaxy flagship phone, the S III at an event in London. On May 29th, the handset will be available to buyeither on a new contract, as an upgrade, or just outright, SIM free and unlocked. But, after all the rumors and built-up expectations relating to Samsung Galaxy S III have come to pass, we wonder if it was all worth it and how Samsung’s newest super smartphone might change Android.
But before we proceed with the technical features, full specifications and screen size etc, let me warn you — The Samsung Galaxy S III design is ugly. You have a first look at it and you will start wondering, “how did something like this ever make it out of Samsung’s design studio?” Don’t get me wrong; specs wise the S III is still a great smartphone that we have ever seen but megapixels and gigabytes don’t mean anything if they’re not wrapped up in a decent package, so is the Samsung Galaxy S 3 a worthy successor to the much-loved Galaxy S 2? Lets find out…

Galaxy S III Design

This rounded-corner design that was first seen in Galaxy S I and later dropped in the S II has now returned in the new Galaxy S III. With more rounded edges and a plastic form factor it might not be a design that many hard-core smartphone fans are going to find attractive.
Where Samsung falls behind its direct competitor is in the actual feel of the phone. Although the sides of the white Galaxy S III and the front of the dark blue version both sport a brushed metal look, they’re made out of good old plastic. Alas, as much as we wished Samsung would move away from cheap-feeling (if sturdy) materials, the GS III is just keeping up with tradition.
However, the distinctive metallic rim is seen around the phone’s edges, consistent with rest of the Samsung Galaxy flagship models. But it is disappointing not to have screen-embedded buttons in the S III, as it would have made an excellent addition to the device. Samsung has said the Galaxy S III design was inspired by nature, with its minimal and organic look that is reflected by its smooth and non-linear lines of the device. However, I’m not entirely sure  if consumers are going to agree to that!

Samsung Galaxy S III Hardware Specs

The handset official specs include a super large display screen with 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 720p resolution (1,280×720 pixels), HSPA+ connectivity, an 8-megapixel camera, 2,100mAh removable battery, as well as a quad-core Exynos processor. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system, and will come in two color optionsblue or white.
Samsung has also made its 2,100mAh battery removable, and the handset will come in three storage capacities:16GB, 32GB, and 64GB (this latter size won’t be immediately available). In addition, it has a microSD card slot for up to another 64GB of storage. The handset will have 1GB RAM for running applications.
Like the S II, the S III will feature an 8-megapixel camera and it also sports a “select your best shot” feature after taking multiple shots. The 8-megapixel camera on the new Samsung phone is integrated better than on the One X: it sits flush with the back of the phone instead of protruding from it.

Galaxy S III Release Date

On May 29th, the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available to buy and will launch in 145 countries in partnership with 296 wireless carriers, with the 3G HSPA+ version set to launch in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East in May, while a 4G model will make its debut in the United States, Japan, and Korea later this summer.

Bottom-line

The plastic feeling of the Galaxy S3 won’t appeal to all. It feels very lightweight (despite tipping the scales at 133g) in the hand, and some people will read this as feeling a little cheap. Having said that, they did just the same for the Galaxy S II and it’s sales figure was enough to silent any critic. I will be interested to see if I’m proven wrong this time around though.
Overall, the effect is much more like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus than anything else – rounded edges, HD screen and whatnot. When there isn’t any doubt the processor is pretty impressive, however, there is a worry that the quad core 1.4 GHz Exynos CPU could suck battery power a little too dramatically.
But the first ever 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display screen looks great, the slick operation under the finger is exactly what we wanted and the little touches like the rippling lock screen do actually feel quite natural.

How To Increase Your Youtube Video Views

If I had a penny for every time I had been asked by somebody to create them a viral video or how to get millions of views on Youtube I would be a very rich man indeed. People think they produce a video (usually of a corporate office setting with a new product announcement), put it on Youtube and all they have to do then is sit back and watch the video views roll in. As anybody who knows anything about online video will tell you the chances are your video will get a couple of hundred views at best. So how do you get the word out about your video online and increase the amount of people who see it on Youtube? Here are some of the little tips and tricks that will help you…

Make Friends And Network On Youtube

People think of Youtube as a place to watch videos but just like any of the other social networking sites there are plenty of ways to interact with other users and engage with the community. You’ll need to start befriending people within your niche, sending them private messages and complimenting them on their own videos and leaving comments wherever relevant. This is a slow process and is very similar to leaving comments on other blogs to grow blog traffic and although it takes lots of time it is highly effective.

Add Annotations To Your Videos

So annotations are getting easier to add on Youtube and although the biggest fault the system has it that it doesn’t let you link out to 3rd party sites (huge spam issues would arise) annotations do help you to grow subscribers. Have a look at the last 10 seconds of our video below and you’ll see a couple of links to our own channel and to our “about us” video. Used correctly (and there are tons of creative ways in which you can do this) annotations are an easy way for you to quickly drive some new subscribers to your channel or views to other videos that might not have been getting so much traffic.

Grow Your Subscriber Base

If there is one sure fire way to give your videos a little boost on Youtube then it is to have subscribers. A subscriber is somebody who will be alerted with an email every single time you upload a new video and their value should not be underestimated. Having somebody make that commitment to you is massive and channels with a couple of hundred subscribers is a great way to get your views up and if the video is good enough it should spread organically from those couple of hundred people to many others.

Tag And Describe Your Video Correctly

Although over the years Youtube has made every effort to improve video search most of the search is still done through text and tags. This means that you need to take lots of care when you are filling out your description and title and make sure to add as many relevant tags as you possibly can. Remember that Youtube is the second biggest search engine in the world after Google and that people could be searching for the content in your video right now so make sure you give them all they need to find it.

Thumbnails

Thumbnails for those of you not familiar with the term are the little images that appear before you click through to a video. You can select which image appears on the back end of Youtube once your video has uploaded and it is vitally important that you select something that is going to entice people to click immediately. Remember that when people search on Youtube they will be presented with 100s of results so in order for your video to stand out it needs to be highly visible.

Embed The Video And Share Wherever You Can

This is a very obvious one but there is a good chance that most of your views are not going to come on Youtube itself but mostly from third party websites. You should certainly have the video on your own website or blog if relevant and make use of your social media profiles like Facebook and Twitter to get the video going. If you have any friends who might be willing to push it out for you that can work well and if you think the video might be relevant to another blogger or website there is no harm in asking if they would like to feature it.

Create Signposts Or Links To Your Video

The old saying that people use for websites “build it and they will come” rings very true for video as well (they won’t actually come no matter how great you think your website/video is). There are millions of other pieces of content out on the web that are as good if not better than what you have produced so you are going to have to work at it and really spread the word about your video. Creating links and virtual “sign posts” to your video is going to be the key. You’ll see a little subscribe button over on the right of our page here on the blog, the Youtube logo appears on all our email signatures and we link through from Facebook and Twitter and all our other social media profiles.

Leave Video Responses

This is one that works incredibly well but it does take time to implement. Basically any video that is out there on YouTube can have video responses left to it (you’ll often see them along the bottom of the main video). You actually have to submit these yourself as a user and if the owner of the original video thinks that they are good enough they will allow it to appear as a video response. You will have to go through videos manually to find places where your video
will have a chance of getting accepted but it’s a great way to get you video in front of people in your niche who are clearly interested in a similar video and who might just click through to yours next. Again if you have followed the first step of effectively networking with other Youtube users then there is a good chance that plenty of people will accept your video response requests.
Any other tips yourself? Share them in the comments…
