Tiki Barber moves on, although agent is ‘flabbergasted’ that no one wanted him

The agent for former running back Tiki Barber, who had hoped to remove “former” from that description, said he is “flabbergasted” that not a single NFL team called Barber as rosters were finalized over the weekend.

Barber, 36, has been out of the NFL since retiring from the New York Giants in 2006 to begin a broadcasting career. With that career fizzling after a messy divorce and poor analogy choices, Barber surprised observers by unretiring.

“We are flabbergasted that Tiki has not had an opportunity with any team, especially when rosters were at 90 players this year,” his agent, Mark Lepselter, told SI.com’s Peter King. “I certainly thought some team would be intrigued to see what he had left in the tank.”

Only the Miami Dolphins brought Barber, the Giants’ career rushing leader, in for a workout — and the Dolphins went with Redskins reject Larry Johnson. And Lepselter took issue with SI’s quote that Barber is “devastated.” He is, Lepselter said, moving on. “This is the last time I am speaking on this subject in any way, shape or form,” he told the New York Post. “You can't worry about the things in life you can't control and Tiki has moved forward accordingly.”
